Guide to Good Womens Ski Apparel
One prime thing a skier must consider while buying womens ski apparel is the insulation. Aside from the innate insulation of the ski clothing, the skier talent for proper garment layering has the power to make or break a skier's skiing holiday. The cardinal rule that every skier must know is to stay warm, dry and well-protected while on slopes from inside to out and head to toe.
One of the most common neglected in womens ski apparel is the ski headgear. Though the head comprises little coverage compared to torso and legs; skier must know that 15% to 25% of skier's body heat escapes out the top of their head before they hit the slopes with just an ear warmer for head protection. Other skiing headgear that is a must for every skier's are goggles, hats, and face masks.
Just like the head gears, mittens and gloves are often taken aside. If mittens are good for insulation purposes, gloves on the other hand allow skier's better grip and more finger mobility. Both functionalities are needed for a good ski performance. Aside from the mentioned functionalities, gloves or mittens with enough padding provides protection of the skier's hands during a fall which is inevitable. A waterproof gloves or mittens will provide extra protection from cold.
If layering in womens ski apparel is a must, then with the ski socks that is not the case. Layering is a mortal sin. The layers will just cause the skier the dreaded blisters. Instead, skier's must go for thick and stretchy socks; the one's that will be snuggly conforming to your foot without slipping or lumping. Modern skiing socks had added extra padding for extra protection of the toes, heels, and shins.
